Farms to Cities
For most Americanââ¬â¢s, ways of life changed significantly for the individuals who were accustomed to living on the ranch. Farmland began changing to the urbanization of the urban areas from the late 1860ââ¬â¢s to the 1920ââ¬â¢s. This incorporated the presentation new innovation and developments, and the formation of industrial facilities and the sequential construction system and large scale manufacturing, and another urbanized way of life. The city turned into another and commendable open door for the individuals who once in the past took a shot at a ranch. By 1925 the city, and not the ranch, had become the essential reality for most Americans as a result of the Second Industrial Revolution, the mass movement, and the open door for more prominent wages. The Second Industrial Revolution is considered to have started in the 1860ââ¬â¢s. New advances and developments, for example, the Bessemer steel converter, the inside burning motor, the creation and refining of oil and gas, the message, the radio, power and the American arrangement of assembling were made in the mid to late nineteenth century. The Bessemer converter worked by blowing air through openings at the base of the convertor to make a response that oxidizes the silicon and overabundance carbon which changed over it to unadulterated steel or iron. This machine permitted a brought down cost on steel and iron just as speed underway. This was a significant supporter of the creation of railways. The extension of the railways incredibly expanded from 1860 to 1920. Railways significantly increased from 1860 to 1880 and afterward multiplied again by 1920. The railways brought down the expense of transportation which empowered the less expensive development of crude materials that would be utilized in industrial facilities. These new tracks additionally associated disconnected towns to bigger markets which permitted them access to new materials they couldn't have previously. Bigger urban areas had an extension of better transportation frameworks, such raised railroads and trams and street route frameworks for the bike furor of the 1890ââ¬â¢s. These developments present in the 1880ââ¬â¢s, for example, the American arrangement of assembling generously expanded the efficiency in the sewing and bike businesses. A significant advancement in the assembling techniques for the Second Industrial Revolution was acquaintance of power with manufacturing plants. This empowered the processing plants to use the new advancements of the sequential construction system and large scale manufacturing. New Factories were beginning to spring up in numerous urban communities in the Northeast segments of the United States. Since an ever increasing number of industrial facilities were being assembled, they required an ever increasing number of laborers to help run the production line and to keep it stable. These production lines made numerous new position open doors for those that were viewed as white collar class. Wages were a lot higher contrasted with cultivating employments and nearby modest community occupations. There were two kinds of laborers, talented specialists and untalented specialists. The gifted specialists were excellent at what they did and trained the incompetent laborers to perform basic undertaking and to rehash it again and again. This before long made the sequential construction system which helped the gifted specialist complete his activity quicker since all the incompetent laborers were helpingthe little undertaking move along so the talented specialist could complete the task. A significant number of the incompetent specialists were worn out on rehashing these movements and needed to increase a range of abilities to turn out to be progressively important and procure higher wages. In this manner a portion of the primary universities were made to help show these untalented men new ranges of abilities. Additionally, the laborers in the manufacturing plants made another market interest for things, for example, lodging, supermarkets, and retail chains. Fix The Bridge Between Immigrants And Americans Essay
Fix the Bridge between Immigrants and Americans What makes us Americans is our shared commitment to an ideal - that all of us are created equal, and all of us have the chance to make of our lives what we will. - President Obamaââ¬â¢s address to the nation, 20 November 2014 That is one of President Obamaââ¬â¢s famous quote when he talked about his plan to reform Americaââ¬â¢s immigration system. He suggested that Americans are great because they value the freedom and respect the dreams of the others. But, as he pointed out later in his speech, the United Statesââ¬â¢ immigration system failed to embrace Americansââ¬â¢ value. In fact, there are many people believe that it is broken. Some people think that it lets many people get into the country every year without properly keeping track of them and creates a high number of illegal immigrants. The others reason that the immigration system does not work because it prevents immigrants entering the United States by forcing them go through a long process and pay high fees. As a country of immigrants, it is impossible for Americans to ignore the issue. I strongly believe that that there must be a reform in Americaââ¬â¢s immigratio n system and future changes need to consider the well-being and safety of Americans while ensuring the United States always a home of immigrants and American Dreams. There is an unpleasant truth that not many Americans know what really inside Americaââ¬â¢s immigration system. ââ¬Å"As a native born resident, I had no idea until I marriedShow MoreRelatedThe novel aims at projecting the ethical aspect of Indian immigrants in Jhumpa Lahiriââ¬â¢s debut novel700 Words à |à 3 PagesThe novel aims at projecting the ethical aspect of Indian immigrants in Jhumpa Lahiriââ¬â¢s debut novel The ââ¬Å"Namesakeâ⬠. Integrated Logistics Information System on Cloud Computing
Question: Discuss about the Integrated Logistics Information System on Cloud Computing. Answer: Introduction AIS is applied to several IT accompanying accounting tasks as well as standards and as a business advisor of accounting company, I suggest that by investing in a cloud-based accounting system, a firm can easily save start-up as well as maintenance costs, hence, there is no need of over-stretched frameworks which are out of budgets. This study includes the major difference between traditional and cloud-based accounting information system and limitations of cloud-based AIS is also discussed in this study. Difference between Traditional and Cloud AIS Cloud-based Accounting System Traditional Accounting System The most dazzling difference between the traditional and cloud-based accounting system is the speed to complete all the operations of the firm. With the cloud-based AIS program, the information is entered for a single time and it is spared. No more waiting for days and weeks to recognize whether the firm is taking profit from it or not (An, Lee, 2015). Cloud-based program provides reports to management of a firm in a short-time period, which is not possible with traditional accounting system. It takes more time to make reports regarding important data of the firm. In cloud-based AIS, the accuracy of calculations increase drastically. In Cloud, accounting spreadsheets straight-forward equations might still be required, however, it is a less demanding and more precise process. The effectiveness experiences the rooftop when a cloud-based framework is utilized. On the other hand, in traditional accounting system, manual system is used in which several columns are manually added -up. If any errors occur in a traditional accounting system, a huge amount of time is spent to find out the errors and to correct them (Carnegie, Napier, 2011). Many firms are adopting cloud-based AIS system, as it is simpler to use, as well as it is easy to find experienced workers to run such framework and is not at all a big issue for the firm (Cai, 2014). In case of traditional AIS which includes pencil and paper is the cheapest system, but is more time consuming and it is nowadays not easy for the firms to find out workers who can run such traditional AIS. Accounting on cloud-based AIS provides the option of saving the entire original work on CDs, external hard disks, portable devices, flash drive, as well as online. Firms can make a backup of data every time as a safeguard. If something occurs, data regarding any work can easily be restored from these backups. When utilizing traditional or manual AIS, the danger of losing information is real. If any essential papers have been destroyed and damaged, then the entire work might have to be done again. The copies of that work might be made, merely that will be more time-consuming and expensive (Gray, 2011). Cloud-based AIS have the abilitytoeasilyaccess the data at any timeand from any place. In Cloud AIS, an enterprise only needs a system with a proper internet connection and suitable cloud-client interface. The dataor informationis not only limited to a single system or a single network. While on the other hand, in traditional AIS, the user accessthe information ordata only on a system where such data isstoredor recorded. If the userwantsto access anydata fromanother system, then there is a needto savesuch datain some external storage device. Limitations of adopting cloud-based Accounting Information System Privacy of Data: The major limitation of cloud-based accounting information system is that the firm is sharing its vital data or information with some third party. These third-party members can use the firms information for their personal business advantages, because the storage of entire data is completely controlled or managed by the third-party suppliers. The data might be stored or moved through several countries, therefore, government and unauthorized users can also audit firms delicate data whenever they want (Du, Cong, 2015). Limitations in many applications: The Cloud-based AIS might not assist all types of applications of the firm, because it only provides what it has. A few of the firms needs might not be accessible in the cloud accounting or cloud-based models (Li, Wang, Chen, 2011). Back-up of data: Many cloud-based accounting information system or software never gives firms the readiness to have the back-up of data on the computer system. When firm changes the system or software, it might misplace the data it already added in the past cloud AIS and the firm will continuously have to pay to third-parties to use new software or system. Vulnerability to assaults: In cloud-based accounting information system, every factor is potentially approachable from the web. Obviously, anything that is associated with the web is not properly safe and best teams also endure intense assaults and safety breaches (He, 2014). The Type and size of businesses that can take benefit from Cloud AIS The organizations of all shapes or sizes as well as sorts can utilize cloud-based AIS to accomplish critical cost savings. Indeed, small on-premises Information Technology set-ups need critical up-front expenses and purchasing of servers, computer systems, and software. The organizations which need tight control on accounting information and don't want its data to be accessed by others can use cloud-based AIS. Several small start-ups and IT set-ups with limited spending plans which have complete trust in new technologies are choosing these cloud-based accounting services. As a cloud-based accounting system can provide security and value to their data. AIS helps employees of health and hospitality organizations to accomplish their jobs fruitfully by decreasing the obstruction between the commercial enterprise units of diverse firms. AIS solutions provide them with a continuous view of the delicate data to address the problems proactively. Through recent surveys on cloud computing, it is found that almost every commercial enterprise irrespective of its size enhances its financial consistencies by using AIS as well as diminishes all kinds of sensitive information related threats to the organization. By automating the basic functions of governmental organizations, AIS software provides them basic assistance. Cloud-based Accounting Information System enhances the consumer-based services of governmental organizations by offering the billing facilities along with relationship tracking. Conclusion This study concludes that the cloud computing has become highly important for several organizations, whether it is an IT industry or any other commercial organization. The potential advantages of cloud accounting system are more which have several positive impact on organizations economy. It has also been concluded that apart from its various benefits, cloud computing has some major limitations which can lead to the loss of the organizations reputation and few economic losses can also occur. A P- The Heroic Sheep Herder
A P- The Heroic Sheep Herder Free Online Research Papers One of the main reasons that a short story can be so effective is familiarity. An author uses different ways to connect with their readers to draw interest. Some authors use themes that are common to everyday life no matter what time period a person lives in, their race, or financial status. Others use emotional connections to make the reader sympathize with the characters. In the short story written by John Updike in 1962 entitled, ââ¬Å"AP,â⬠he uses the familiar setting of a supermarket, and gives the reader an idea of what a teenage boy thinks about teenage girls. Sammy, the narrator of the story is young, impulsive and naive. Both he and the three girls in the story are being rebellious by doing things that arenââ¬â¢t considered to be the norm, otherwise not conforming to what others think is right. It is not uncommon for teen aged kids to go through periods of rebellion. At this time of their lives when their hormones are raging they are basically looking to find themselves and doing things that make them feel good. Updike uses what can be viewed as a typical teenage boy for the protagonist first person narrator of this story. Sammy is a nineteen year old boy who works as a cashier at a local AP in a Boston suburb. His story begins when three young girls walk into the store barefooted wearing bathing suits. He makes it easy to see that he has great interest in these girls by his in-depth descriptions of them; this is about the first girl: The one that caught my eye first was the one in the plaid green two-piece. She was a chunky kid, with a good tan and a sweet broad soft-looking can with those two crescents of white just under it, where the sun never seems to hit, at the top of the backs of her legs. (Updike 610) It appears that he has put a little more time and effort into this new customer; he may not be able to describe other customers with such detail. As Sammy gives us his view of the second girl he goes into greater detail with his assumptions of what other people may think about her as well: A tall one, with black hair that hadnââ¬â¢t quite frizzed right, and one of those sunburns right across under the eyes, and a chin that was too long- you know, the kind of girl other girls think is very ââ¬Å"strikingâ⬠and ââ¬Å"attractiveâ⬠but never quite makes it, as they very well know, which is why they like her so much. (Updike 610) Finally in walks the leader of there group, one Sammy has titled, ââ¬Å"Queenie.â⬠Right away he goes into great detail about her entrance. He describes the way that the other two girls followed her throughout the store, assuming that she had convince the other two into coming in dressed in their bathing suits, and that she had to show them how to do it, walking slow and holding themselves straight. (Updike 610) Sammy shows his level of interest in Queenie by describing every detail about her from the color, shape and style of her bathing suit, to the manner in which is sat on her body, ââ¬Å"off her shoulders looped loose around the cool tops of her arms, and I guess as a result the suit had slipped a little on her, so all around the top of the cloth there was this shining rim.â⬠(Updike 610) He continues on about her face, skin, neck, and hair stating she was more than pretty and that he didnââ¬â¢t mind seeing this much more of her. Another way Sammy shows his high level of interest in these three young girls is by how he describes the other shoppers in the AP. He very negatively describes the customer that is at his register while the girls first walk in. This fifty year old witch is what he calls, ââ¬Å"a cash-register-watcherâ⬠and his error of ringing up an item twice by accident has definitely made her day. (Updike 610) He finishes up his description of her by stating, ââ¬Å"By the time I got her feathers smoothed and her goodies into a bag- she gives me a little snort in passing, if sheââ¬â¢d been born at the right time they would have burned her over in Salem.â⬠(Updike 610) Once again stating how much of a witch he thought she was. Another instance where Sammy shows his dislike for the other customers is when the girl walk down the aisle in front of his register, doing what he calls walking against the grain of traffic while ââ¬Å"the sheep pushing their carts down the aisle.â⬠(Updike 611) He describes the reaction the girls got while walking down that aisle, causing numerous looks, including a few housewives who had to do a double take to make sure they had seen correctly. The young girls did more than catch the attention of the ââ¬Å"sheepâ⬠as Sammy liked to call them. In order to back up Sammyââ¬â¢s interest in these girls he tells of responses of agreement from two of his fellow co-workers who apparently feel the same way he does. The other cashier working at the AP that day was named Stokesie and he said to Sammy as the girls walked past, ââ¬Å"Oh Daddyâ⬠¦..I feel so faint.â⬠(Updike 611) Also, the man at the meat counter named McMahon who after giving directions to the girls, ââ¬Å"patted his mouth and looked after them sizing up their joints.â⬠(Updike 611) However, the sheep werenââ¬â¢t the only ones who did not approve of their attire as much as the boys did. The manager of the AP Mr. Lengel walks through the front door and everyoneââ¬â¢s luck had run out, itââ¬â¢s what Sammy says is the saddest part of the story. (Updike 612) Mr. Lengel walks over to the girls and tells them that they are not at the beach and that the AP requires its customers to be ââ¬Å"decently dressed.â⬠(Updike 612) Queenie stands up herself and says, ââ¬Å"We are decent.â⬠The girls try to give their side of the story saying that they were only coming in to buy one item, but this fell upon deaf ears when Lengel asks Sammy to just ring up their purchase so they can leave. (Updike 613) Sammy does as he has been told. Sammy however has something build up inside of him, be it courage or stupidity and cannot let this be the final moment between himself and these three young girls. Before the girls are out of earshot Sammy tells Mr. Lengel that he quits, and that ââ¬Å"you didnââ¬â¢t have to embarrass the girls the way you did.â⬠(Updike 613) Sammy attempts to be the hero for these young girls, even though by the time it was all played out they had left the building. At this point it didnââ¬â¢t matter to him though, it was his way of standing up for himself and what he thought was right. At the end Sammy had lost his job for three girls who he hadnââ¬â¢t even spoken to. But just like the three girls who walked into an AP with no shoes on and wearing only bathing suits he was doing something rebellious by standing up to his boss and quitting his job on his own terms. In Sammyââ¬â¢s mind he had done something heroic, something he probably didnââ¬â¢t think he was capable of. Even though he knew his parents would be upset with him and he realized that he ââ¬Å"felt how hard the world was going to be to me hereafterâ⬠(Updike 614) but at least he still didnââ¬â¢t have to check the sheep through the line day after day. Windows Xp Vs Os X essays
Windows Xp Vs Os X essays The new operating systems released by Microsoft and Apple in the past year are relatively unexplored. The new operating system by Apple in called Mac Os X. The new release by Microsoft is called Windows XP or Windows Experience. These operating systems are a big evolution from the old systems. Unlike other upgrades, these systems look and act completely different from the previous versions. In this paper I will talk about what the older systems were like, Mac Os X and Windows XP. The older systems were not built for many of the things that we need today. When the original OSs (Operation Systems) were built in a time when the Internet was not very popular and when there were no high graphic games, Mp3 or Digital movies. Over the years the systems added on utilities to support these things. The problem was they were not built in to the operation system originally. This is one of the reasons the old systems were very unreliable. Another problem was that the look of the Os was not going to win a fashion show. This is because the computers back than were slow. Things have changed now. Mac Os X has been in production for 10 years. The new system is made for the Internet and digital media. This system has been nicknamed Aqua the Spanish word for water. People call it aqua because it looks like water. This is easy on they eyes making it so people will not be as stressed out when using it. This system is very reliable. In a more personal note I have not been able to crash my computer with Os X running. The new operation system is open source. Open source is where the code to program for the operating system is free. Apple decided to use open source to make it so people will make programs for Os X. Reviews of the operation system show that people like it, but wish there were more programs available. Many Software companies have announced titles for Os X. So the Future looks bright for this futuristic Operation ...

STATEGIC MARKETING PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION Essay
STATEGIC MARKETING PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION - Essay Example Environmental Analysis of Pfizer When looking at the challenges for Pfizer, it is important to look at the environment of the entire pharmaceutical industry. In the last few years, this industry has become as competitive as any other. Because of technological advances, the tighter controls that have been place on regulatory compliance and ââ¬Å"volatile investor confidenceâ⬠(Verbigena Consulting, n.d.) the pharmaceutical industry has become very competitive. There are many ways to understand how this has happened and its effect on specific companies in the industry. For this study this researcher has used the PEST (political, economic, social and technological) model. In this model, it is important to identify those issues that are a part of the environment that makes the pharmaceutical company meet the competition as well as meet the environment head on. In this way, they are able to analyse their competition to make sure that they are doing what is needed. Political analysis In looking at the pharmaceutical industry, it has become increasingly competitive because there has been an emphasis on healthcare all over the world. People are living longer and they have more access to alternative modalities of healthcare. Also, healthcare has become more expensive to the average consumer which as meant that there needs to be reform on all levels. Healthcare is not just an economic burden to an economy but it is also a social burden. This means that politics come into play when there needs to be reforms to promote social welfare (In the UK the National Healthcare Service debate over Medicare is one example). Economic Value The pharmaceutical industry is projected to increase in the future. Since 2003, there have been substantial increases because of ââ¬Å"high value mergers and acquisitionsâ⬠(Verbigena Consulting, p. 3.). Many analysts have projected that pharmaceutical stock would increase to 10.5% by 2010 which meant that sales would reach $500 billion. This is not unfathomable because our societies are ones that are dependant on drugs (both over the counter and prescription) for many ailments and to fight disease. Although a large majority of sales originate in the US, Japan and EU, 80% of sales are distributed over nine countries: ââ¬Å"US, Japan, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Canada, Brazil and Spainâ⬠(Verbigena Consulting, p. 3). Sales are expected to increase as people age and healthcare is reformed. Social Value Everyone is concentrating on good health today. There are many articles across the Internet that tell people how to look better, how to lose weight, how to stop aging and more. Because of this, pharmaceutical companies have an area that is always growing. Global epidemics like AIDS or SARS have helped the pharmaceutical companies push for a cure and their search has created an opportunity in the media to follow their progress. This also means that the pharmaceutical companies have to keep good relations with the media, government and other organizations that can help them keep the world out that they are doing a good job. Technology Technology has improved over the years and science has been one of those improvements. The pharmaceutical companies have to keep up with the technological demands in all of the industries they participate within. Also, these companies have to spend more money on research and development so that their employees will become more innovative in producing their products. Legal The FDA and other legal

CRJS472IP3 Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
CRJS472IP3 - Research Paper Example This implies that the investigating agency must have an original sample from the person to work with if they require accurate results. However, samples are also important in unintended recordings. The agency can get an individual original voice recording by securing a court order demanding the suspect to do so (FBI n.d). In high secretive missions, voice recorders are planted in strategic places in order to identify the speakers. For example, police may plant recorders in the body of an undercover agent to capture the conversation between drug dealers, arms dealers and terrorist. The device captures the voices that can be analyzed and used as evidence before a court of law (Becker 2009). Voice recognition works effectively when the police or the investigating agency has an authentic voice sample of a suspect. Analysis is then done on the sample with the original sample as a reference. Analysis is done using high-tech computer programs. The programs identify modification in the voices that are meant to disguise the conversation by use of personal voice tracts that cannot be compromised. The most used source of voices is telephone conversations. This method entails recording and listening to selected telephone conversations. The conversations are passed across a voice recognition system whereby speakers are likely to be identified. In this method, the speakers must speak for some time for analysis and authentication to be complete. The timing is usually pegged at thirty seconds; however, it is impossible to control the length of the conversation in cases where the investigator is not part of the conversation. Voice recognition has been used in investigations involving drug dealers in the USA. Drug cartels are highly secretive thus it is very hard to nab them with their cargo. As such, the police and FBI use telephone conversations and undercover agents to obtain voice samples of the criminals. The voices are then analyzed

Aberdeens Influence on Kurt Cobain Essay -- Music Essays
Aberdeen's Influence on Kurt Cobain The towns of Hoquiam and Aberdeen are located on the eastern edge of Grays Harbor in western Washington state. If you are a fan of the band Nirvana, you have probably heard of these names. If not, you are about to read how a town affected a person who in turn affected many people's lives. Kurt Cobain was the singer and guitarist for Nirvana. He was born in Hoquiam (population 9,000) and after six months of life moved to Aberdeen (pop. 16,500), an old lumber town at the eastern-most point of Grays Harbor. The town is about four miles wide and three miles long. On the northern and eastern sides of town are steep hills where the richer families live in Victorian-style houses. At the foot of the hills is the poorer part of Aberdeen where Kurt grew up. (Gilmore 44) Seattle is known to get a lot of rain. Aberdeen gets more: they get up to seven feet a year. The rain casts a "constant, dreary pall over the town" (Azerrad 11). Route 12 into Aberdeen is "bordered by an endless succession of trailer parks" with forests of trees behind them that have "vast stubbly scars where the loggers have been clear-cutting" (12). To author Sallie Tisdale, Hoquiam and Aberdeen are "sprawling and untidy" and "dull, mediocre, undecorative" towns. Almost all the views of the water are "marred by piles of logs and steaming mills." (213) Aberdeen and Hoquiam are two of the oldest logging, sawmilling, and paper-manufacturing towns in the Northwest. Paper-producing companies, like Weyerhaeuser, ITT Rayonier, and others, have their mills here. (Fodor's 139) Logging used to dominate Aberdeen. But business has been declining lately and "layoffs are turning Aberdeen into a ghost town." One of the biggest mills wh... ... Cobain is dead at the age of 27. He leaves behind a wife who loved him, a daughter who will never know him and millions of strangers whose lives have been enriched because he lived. (53) Works Cited Azerrad, Michael. From Belief to Agnosticism
I was always wondering why people experience miseries, travails and hardships while others are on cloud 9 experiencing great happiness and contentment. Then I questioned myself why it so? Why is it that not all people experience happiness that they deserve? Why is life unfair? It was not until one day, I heard my parents talking about Jesus. I then asked myself, who is Jesus? Is he that important to the lives of the people? Why were my mom, grandparents and dad talking about him? In their conversation, they said that Jesus is the Savior of all humanity. It was the only time I heard them talking about Jesus. That probably was the effect of their TV watching about religion and great evangelist. My parents, especially my mother, taught us that faith in God is very important. My mother is very religious, very active in other church activities and the one who really pushes us to go to church though my father is very lazy in attending Sunday services in the church. Just like my mother, my g randparents are also very religious. They never miss to go to church every Sunday. My parents and my grandparents actually meet in the church. My parentââ¬â¢s wants that we should earnestly go to church every Sunday and see to it that it will only be spent for Jesus alone. Eventually, we found a church where we always fellowship. It is also where I grew and mature spiritually. As I served Jesus through the years, I never experienced such great manifestation of His goodness. I always hear my friends and church mates talk about Him and the miracles and help that Jesus did for them and for their family. But why is it that I still do not experience it all? It was not until my dad passed away.I felt so empty inside of me; it was like something is just so missing. I questioned the existence of God that if He really existed why would all this sufferings happen to me? I was faithful to Him all along and all I deserve is this, the lost of my father? I was so miserable and so discouraged at that time. I was full of uncertainties and insecurities at that time. Then one day, I found my bible inside my cabinet and when I opened it I saw Godââ¬â¢s words saying that whoever is lonely, weary and tired should just call upon His name and He will feel all of the emptiness one feels. He is also our great loving father that even we lose our earthly father; He will remain our father now and forever. I then realize my worth and regained my faith back to him. I put on my mind that whatever happens, God has a plan for it. That everything happens for a purpose, for a reason. I continued my relationship with God and as I mature I began to see things in a different perspective. In the ways that Jesus wants me to. Things that I should perceive that are right, noble and perfect. But I cannot deny that this generation becomes cruel.Others do not consider religion an important tool in ones life. As we all know Religion involves the relationship between mankind and what is regarded as sac red. Religion almost always includes the belief in the supernatural and a code of ethical behavior. Why do men suffer? What is the nature of the Universe and how it is governed? What is the nature of man and what is his destiny? Religion tries to answer the questions of ultimate existence and of life and death and human and destiny. Many religions hold the universe is governed by God.Through religion man may see meaning in the universe and find a personal role in it. Thousands of years ago, religion played a very vital role in the lives of the people. Even thought that time things were not that so complicated not like now, people still has a closer connection to God. People then put a greater emphasis on going to church, fellowshipping with their brotherââ¬â¢s and sisterââ¬â¢s in the Lord and in maintaining their relationship with their creator. As of now, in our present times I think that Religion is ten times important than it was before. As the modern world is evolving and i s now being introduced to different kinds of beliefs and theories that could likely shake our foundation of faith for God. The basis and the only foundation of our faith is Jesus Christ. We must hold on to him more especially these days that there are many deceivers out there that are being used by the enemy to destroy us and to keep us away from the loving arms of God. When we donââ¬â¢t have a strong foundation of our relationship to God, we can easily yield to the temptations and offerings that Satan will present to us, like the technology of today. If we donââ¬â¢t know how to control the usage of technology of today, we can be manipulated and controlled by it. That is just one of the tactics of Satan to let us fall into the pit he is preparing for us, for us to be kept away from Godââ¬â¢s destiny for us. Today, there are many existing religions. There are the Protestants, Orthodox and the Roman Catholics. But whatever our religion is, let us always remember that salvation is an individual concern. One cannot be saved because of his religion but what counts is his relationship with Jesus. As I look around and observe the magnificent things, I can really say to myself that how awesome is he who created the heavens and the earth. I can truly say to myself that there is someone up there, who is greater than us and omnipotent. There are times that I try to figure out things but the truth is I cannot fathom it; thus, that is how religion came in. Through religion, I have learned that there is God; the God who created the universe and I am his masterpieces. But his existence has been questioned for many years now whether he does exist or not. Doubts and disbeliefs reign in othersââ¬â¢ minds because of lack of knowledge in knowing God.Religion plays a vital role in helping us to know our Creator; thus, many religions are coming out because they want to help the mankind to know about God. Like the family and the economy, religion is a universal and pervasi ve phenomenon, a part of the cultural system, because it is assumed to meet some basic need of human being. Religion is an integrated part of human experience and shows remarkable continuity through time. Personally, religion has a significant role in my life. It helps me know who my creator is. Through religion I can be able to know the words and the ways of God.Yes, I do have religious convictions. My principles and philosophies in life are guided with the teachings of my religion. I have faith in my religion because it helps me to do what is right in the sight of God; thus, it helps me live life wisely by loving and putting God first and love my neighbors as myself. I believe that God is my Savior, He is my redeemer. He redeemed from the darkness. I was once was lost but now I am found in His arms already. I believe He created from His image and likeness. He restored my dying soul when I was still lost. I believe that He rose from the dead and ascended in heaven. He is my comforte r, my best friend and my loving father that I could never have here on earth. My personal perceptions with regards to religion are very much different from my mother and my grandparents. They believe that the Bible is for every individual and its principles can be applied to all ages and everything should works the same way as the word of God never changes and still the same yesterday, today and forever. But in my own opinion, I believe that the Bible was written to the older audiences so some of the concepts and rules do not apply to the world we are in today. An example of this is that, the Bible says that parents should train up their children to where they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it. As I have observed, most of the parents right now do not train their children to the right thing (excluding my parents). They fail to supervise their children. They just let their children talk back to them and allow them to do their own thing even though it is not right. Just like aborting a baby without a valid reason. They consent and condone their childââ¬â¢s immoral act by aborting the babies. I can say that because I have observed it.Another thing, the Bible also agrees that parents should not spare the rod in disciplining their children. In addition to this, the Bible commanded the children to obey their parents for this is right and honor them so that we may live long. Yet, children nowadays are very disrespectful to their parentsââ¬â¢ authorities. There are still a number of religious issues being tackled by now. The issues that keeps affecting the different aspects of human life. Different religions keep on competing for them to invite individuals to come and join with them. Sometimes because of these, the essence of having a religion is lost. The real perspective of establishing a deeper relationship with God is lost because of the overwhelming issues that could bother the spiritual and emotional aspect of a person. The real ro le of having a religion is to develop a deeper and serious relationship with our Almighty Creator. God does not base our salvation on what religious denomination we join to. He looks at the position of our hearts and of we really love Him and long to be with Him sincerely. He does not base his judgment on the things we do and achieve. It is our hearts that He looks up to.

Forgives is also an approach which can be used to effectively reduce bullying in school (Ahmed Braithwaite, 2006). It is known to be the most powerful weapon that is used by the affected parties to bring to an end the cycle behavior of being destructive. Forgiveness is only possible if the victim decides not to hold any grudge against the offender. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Approaches of Curbing Bullying" essay for you Create order He decides to let go every hatred and trusts that the wrong door will accept the chance and assume a responsible life. The victim expects that with forgiveness and acceptance bullying should come to an end. The effectiveness of this approach is that the wrongdoer feels acceptance back to the community. He is also aware that the victim will take him as a changed- for ââ¬Å"the- better person from there on. This is achieved after the offender accepts his mistakes and changes to be able to manage the shame. On the other hand, wrongdoer who is unable to manage the shame blames others for the mistakes done. He suffers shame replacement which increases bullying (Rigby, 2004). The other method that is used to minimize bullying is through the community-based approaches (Dusenbury et al, 1997). The community incorporates all the stakeholders including the teachers, coaches, parents, the law and the students at large. The community has to address the issue of bullying otherwise silence paves way for increased bullying among students. Adult role models who are against bullying are examples that students emulate. Organizing events like games and sports in playgrounds and have the coach supervise teaches students to care and love their neighbor. Group work is also another way that teachers use as a way of minimizing bullying in class. The community is also free to use the law and warn the students against any act of bullying. The challenge faced here is that very little effort has been channeled to curb this issue of bullying (Hay Meldrum, 2010). The community has not taken the problem of bullying with the weight that it deserves. Reference Ahmed, E., Braithwaite, V. (2006). Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The bankruptcy of the Enron Corporation" essay for you Create order The Scandal of Enron To review the Scandal of Enron in deep and have a better understanding of what happened, it is important to know about the companys history and analyze some of the events that led to fell down too fast. After a union between Houston Natural Gas Co. and Omaha-based InterNorth Inc. Enron was created in 1985. Soon after, Kenneth Lay the chief executive officer (CEO) of Houston Natural Gas- became Enrons CEO and chairman who rebranded Enron into an energy trader and provider. Also, in 1990 Kenneth Lay created the Enron Finance Corp. At this time, in the earliest 1990s was in course the liberalism and nonintervention of the energy markets, when the United States congress accepted a legislation that deregulated the sale of natural gas, being this the factor that permitted companies like Enron took advantage to place bets and speculate on future prices (Segal, T. 2018). In the late 1990s, the Enron company was recognized as one of the most innovative corporations, its annual earnings were around $9 billion in 1995 to above $100 billion in 2000. They kept constructing power plants and operating gas lines, but the principal reason why they were well-known was their extraordinary trading business. Which in addition to ordering and vending gas and electricity futures, appears the creation of new markets (commodities) for broadcast time for advertisers, weather futures, and Internet bandwidth as some of the different projects they had (Yuhao, L. 2010). Where the company was trying to explore any possibility that drives to grow revenues at any cost. In the same year, Jeffery Skilling joined Enron, and in 1997 was selected as the companys Chief Executive Officer. He claimed the need to change the accounting system from a straightforward were Enron had listed actual revenue and costs of supplying and selling gas to the mark-to-market accounting system (Pave l, T. Encontro, M. 2012). In order to explain this, is relevant to be familiar with the concepts mentioned above, thus according to the definition given on INVESTOPEDIA (2018), Mark-to-market (MTM) is a measure of the fair value of accounts that can change over time, such as assets and liabilities. Which means that all the estimations made at Enron were created based on the upcoming net value of the cash flow, even though the money was not yet received. For instance, when the Executive Skilling, had in possession material of nonpublic information including the Enrons performance and the failure of its business, he took advantage of that by selling Enrons stocks at the inflated values. From April 2000 to September 2001, Skilling sold over one million shares that generated unlawful earnings of around $63 million (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, 2004). Hence, the unethical and illegal decisions soon started to reflect its bad results, causing a lot chaos and the beginning of the companys destruction. Certainty, Enron was a big blossoming business that change and left a mark in the history; where sadly a considerable amount of people loses their jobs, or event worst their money. In addition, to cover all the mess up caused already, appears a major player in Enrons scandal, Arthur Andersen LLP and partner David B. Duncan who supervised the accounts and accounting practices at Enron. Despite the irregularities they found on Enron s statements, Arthur Andersen stamped his approval and signed off the corporate reports. Nonetheless, in April 2001 many analysts started to demand transparency and explanation of all the movements the company had done without showing in public the appropriate financial statements (Segal, T. 2018). In fact, this relationship is also another factor that helped the company hide its frauds, such as keeping huge debts off balance sheets. Central problems It is evident that the Enron Scandal involves a lot of factors which should be covering in order to explain what really happens, but at this point, the concentration will be only on the most relevant facts by implementing a framework of Ethics. The legal and regulatory structure, the internal policies to manage employees compensation (organizational design strategic decision making), the power to hire their own auditors (allies), the financial disclosure mechanisms and the unethical performance, were some of the reasons why first of all the company was allowing to take advantage of its shareholders and secondly was led to bankruptcy. Problems Definition In the following paragraphs, the purpose is to find the appropriate facts to explain all the problems mentioned above and the proper ways to give them possible solutions. Based on a study made by Dennis, Martin, Kirk (2002) at Santa Clara University, which states that back in that time the current laws Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations allowed firms like Arthur Andersen to deliver consulting services without specific tools. That would have helped them with the measurement of Enrons performance. Here the legal and controlling systems fallacy was exposed, since the two companies (Enron Anderson) were able to hide, lied and override the social rules, by mistreating the real information to all the parties involved. For instance, when Enron announced bankruptcy, they had $13.1 billion in debt on its books, $18.1 billion on its subsidiarys books, and an estimated $20 billion more off the balance sheets (Zellner, W. 2001). Although, previous to the fall of Enron and their auditors, Arthur Andersen, were safety actions in place to protect the investors and the public as a whole. These safety measures included Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS), and all professional ethics. The use of GAAP by accountants is standard protocol (Todd, S. 2001). Which were not enough to prevent the inappropriate actions effectuated by them. Secondly, are the internal policies to manage employees compensation (organizational design strategic decision making), to explore this issue further, the Enrons compensation policies are the most important thing to look at based on that in many plans it seemed to be innovative with be st practices, but payments were closely connected to shareholder value, and employees had a significant portion of their compensation at risk. Furthermore, Enrons audit committee was state of the art allowing the committee to retain other accountants, consultants, or lawyers, as it deemed appropriate. (Gillan, S. Martin, J. 2007). In mid-2000 the stock price of the company fell from $90 per share to less than $1, taking with it the value of Enron employees 401k pensions, which were mainly tied to the company stock (Peter, B.2016) Table 1: CEO compensation during 2000: Enron and peers In this table clearly can be analyzed the Enrons CEO, Kenneth Lay, and peer firms compensation during 2000 (section A) and the sample of investment banks (section B). There is a high total pay packages where Lays total compensation is one of them, and it was parallel to the investment banks, although somewhat less incentive-based. The company enforced a program that provided directors with incentives ( bonus) to rise earnings and the companys stock price (Gillan, S. Martin, J. 2007). In effect, after seeing all of this is hard to believe that they did not manipulate the earnings to achieve those bonuses, based that those could be obtain on performance. Third, the power to hire their own auditors (allies), this again is a conflict of interest built into the legal system because the auditor has an incentive not to question an unfavorable or negative report on the company that is paying. Thus, is appropriate to cite here the Special Purpose Entity (SPE), which are legal entities that are created only to accomplish an explicit or provisional task. With the purpose to handle assets either by funding or by risk management (Pavel, T. Encontro, M. 2012). In Enrons case the Special Purpose Entities were not only used to avoid the traditional accounting resolutions but also, they could hide obligations (debts). But this foundational statement that the SEC can differ on private entities as the first and primary control against massive corporate wrongdoing, proved terribly wrong in the case of Enron (Financial oversight of Enron, 2002). Similarly, Enron was subject to external sources of authority like market pressures, oversight by government regulators, and oversight by private entities including auditors, equity analysts, and credit rating agencies (Financial oversight of Enron, 2002) which were no aware of all the illicit transaction until the big scandal came out on 2001 leaving in evidence all the unethical performance and decisions that affect so many people. Potential and Specific Solutions Presenting general solutions to vast problems is the descriptive phrase of this paragraph, which can be driven to find the precise way to take, by implementing the managerial theories and following upgrading process. As a result, and after doing research about this, the more factual solutions: Enforcement of the Code of Ethics by any employer or employee in the company. As all the corporations have their Code of Ethics, Enron did too, but they did not follow what they highlighted on it where the core values were: respect, integrity, communication, and excellence (Enron, Code of Ethics. 2000). The payment of incentives after a project is done or at least when the company is really profiting from that certain project. Operational risk should be reduced. Careful selection of accounting approach and financial structures to use. look more closely at the relationship between auditors, managers and the company audit group. Minimized payment in stocks (Pavel, T. Encontro, M. 2012). New regulations resulted after the scandal, and the legislation designed to increase the accuracy of financial reporting for publicly traded companies (Peter, B. 2016). These new methods that are bringing positive results to the business, are always needed in any type of organization, since many changes are being experienced and will continue to be with the growing globalized world. The hierarchy system should be modifying and most importantly restructured (Natasha, S. 2011). Delegation among the employees according to their specialties strengths and not hiding information of the current company status. Also, Directors could have adapted key aspects of the private-equity governance model to ensure that they achieve their oversight responsibilities. Companies can take steps to help senior executives avoid the two sources of leadership failure at Enron: personal opportunism and flights to utopianism (Natasha, S. 2011). All of this is about communication vs people, when a person is happy doing his/her job, will exceed their limits to achieve organizational goals, but if instead, that person has no motivation the performance will be poor. Key terms and Conclusion The HBS professor Malcolm S. Salter, explained on his new book, Innovation Corrupted: The Origins and Legacy of Enrons Collapse, a deep reflection on the present and future of business, all of them based on Enrons scandal. Putting as an illustration, their ambition and aspiration were too wide-ranging to authority disciplined and responsible decision-making during the struggling time, that did not allow the members of the board manage the problems. Another key point is that Enron was an advanced and innovative company, and its collapse can be traced by some enormously poor diversification decisions, and poorly considered and implemented administrative practices that led, to their auto destruction. In summary, Executives at Enron and Arthur Andersen did not think on their actions and all the disaster they could cause to people and families who trusted them, they neither have a positive impact on the accounting industry nor any industry. They set out to make as much money for themselves as quickly as possible. They were willing to do whatever it took to make that money (Todd, S. 2001). These insensitive and selfish acts led both companies to a final downfall in bankruptcy. Nevertheless, the accounting industry responded by initiating changes that would recover itself and the economy in which it exists, as it was mention before; But, even now, only with the continuous work to improve the industry and the implementation of better processes, it will tend to function effectively and shape to the fast changes. Finally, the Code of Ethics should be mandatory to act in the best interest of the company, shareholder and employees, no leaving it in consideration to the managers/executives to exercise their own business and enter arrangements. .

A Coming Of Age Story Essay - 1124 Words
If there is one story that society loves, itââ¬â¢s a coming-of-age story: a tale that follows a young protagonist (usually a teenager), and chronicles life as he or she grows into a mature and advanced individual. One famous, and rather unconventional, story of this nature is J.D. Salingerââ¬â¢s novel, The Catcher in the Rye. In this book the main character, Holden Caulfield, has a bit of an episode, and feels near hopeless at times as he struggles with his own adolescence. In order to tie Holdenââ¬â¢s individual strife with the mayhem of every adolescent mind to form one central message, Salinger relies on a number of novel-based elements. Specifically, he illustrates the complexity and uncertainty associated with the transformation into an adult through the details and symbols of Holdenââ¬â¢s journey. One way that the author conveys his message about the lives of teenagers is through details concerning Holdenââ¬â¢s struggles with maturity. To begin, Holden feels that adult society reeks of falsehood. Commonly referring to the world and people around him as ââ¬Å"phonyâ⬠, Holden has a particular quarrel with the movies in particular. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
REBT Case Conceptualization Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) refers to a detailed psychotherapeutic and philosophical treatment for resolving behavioral and emotional challenges among clients. Through this process, individuals can live happily, and achieve their desired objectives in life. This therapy points out that people develop and formulate opinions, which make them distressed.Advertising We will write a custom critical writing sample on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More In this case, people build up views about themselves from a wide scope. For instance, majority of individuals base their views on backgrounds and convictions. As a result, affected individuals construct ideas to resolve their own problems. The model considers that people instill emotional distress into themselves. Coherent and illogical innate behaviors enhance such a notion. Notably, individuals compose reasons to ac cuse themselves of their weaknesses. Therefore, they withdraw themselves due to guilt and misery. Over time, the individuals despise other people, interfering with their interpersonal relationship (Fall et al., 2004). As a result, this behavior affects them negatively. This proves that REBT is vital in addressing psychological problems of clients with maladaptive thoughts and abnormal behaviors. REBT can be used to explain the behavior portrayed by Tammy. This is because Tammy has formulated negative views and strange behaviors, which emanates from the surrounding. Initially, Tammy despises her father because of his disgusting habits. She claims that her father was a hot-tempered and unpredictable person. His anger, which could last for several days, made everyone in the family to agonize. This is because being a victim of it was unbearable. Despite her father being a drunkard, his drinking habits were unique. In this case, he would drink at home late in the evening until he found h imself in the bed. He would always be amazed by his drinking capacity the following day. The behavior of her father troubled Tammy because she could not live an independent live. In addition, Tammyââ¬â¢s problems results from the kind of relationship she had with her mother. Although she never had conflicts with her, they could not associate well. In this case, they could not communicate frequently even if they were alone. As a result, Tammy perceives that she spent her childhood in solitude.Advertising Looking for critical writing on psychology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More On the other hand, Tammy believes that she cannot do anything that satisfies anyone. This is because she has never been given any opportunity to try something new (Sheryl, 2009). Tammy shows a sense of irrational imaginations. Ellis, the author of REBT, believes that emotional distress originates from the surroundings of an individual. This implies t hat individuals lack the flexibility of overcoming abnormal behaviors and mental disorders (Parrott, 2004). The growing environment of Tammy caused the disorders. The external environment influences oneââ¬â¢s feelings and behaviors. This can be demonstrated by her disturbances, which are constructed on her relationship with the parents. Similarly, her mother and maternal grandmother had related experience of depression, which often involved thoughts of suicide. In her case, she claims to have experienced the first thought of suicide at fifteen. Furthermore, her nineteen-year-old son had also been affected with similar episodes of depression. This view also is worsened by the death of her fatherââ¬â¢s uncle and aunt in their 50ââ¬â¢s due to alcoholic-related diseases. All these thoughts have consolidated into her depression. Another irrational belief constructed by Tammy is that she cannot remain committed to relationships. Despite the fact that she has never been a victim o f sexual abuse, she has not experienced mutual satisfaction in a relationship. She only claims to have had mutual satisfaction with her first boyfriend at age sixteen. During her marriage period, she claims to have been unhappy because her husband was not sexual attracted to her. She supports this idea with the view that she has never engaged in extra-marital affairs, which could have driven her to this status. Furthermore, when she went for a divorce, most of her relationships failed. These thoughts have made Tammy despise relationships. In addition, she has withdrawn herself from men leading distress (Patterson Watkins, 2006). The view of distress as being hereditary is also an irrational belief. In this regard, she claims that her generation was cursed because the same experience has been witness in her family lineage. As a result, she attempts to be caring and alert for his son, to avert the course of nature. However, she has problems of depression and demeanor while they are a lone with her son.Advertising We will write a custom critical writing sample on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This has significantly affected their relationship. Notably, the condition of her son has become one of the troubles, although it rarely occurs with severity. For these reasons, she does not relate well with him, creating an additional irrational view of being a non-caring mother (Fall et al., 2004). The case of Tammy demands adoption of Cognitive therapy to address the behavior. It is noticeable that Tammy has maladaptive thoughts. These thoughts stem from the external environment, which make one develops abnormal behavior and strange feelings. This is shown by her feelings towards normal work when she is with people. She regards herself as being useless, with no ability to contribute anything of value. As a result, she has withdrawn herself from people making her depressed. Notably, this fact has affected her working place activities and home chores. The behavior of Tammy portrays signs of noticeable and non-noticeable maladaptive behaviors. For instance, Tammy has noticeable maladaptive behavior because she feels not good enough when working with people. As a result, she has developed feelings of inferiority, causing a drop in her performance. The initial behaviors of Tammy before the disorder occurred changed her life (Parrott, 2004). At the beginning, the kind of relationship that her parents have due to his fatherââ¬â¢s drinking habits worries her. The nature of association that she experienced with her mother while still young worsens her views. Her growth is interfered significantly by lack of support, especially in her undertakings. Growing up as a second-born child, she received minimal assistance in her daily work from her parents. With the lack of support, she developed negative feelings for everyone around her because of her weaknesses. These thou ghts portray a sense of being unfit in the society, and lack of ability to win anyoneââ¬â¢s interest (Patterson Watkins, 2006). Goal setting and Interventions A therapist has to resolve Tammyââ¬â¢s troubles through identification of appropriate interventions. Initially, counseling will aid in solving the challenges that face her. This implies that Tammy should be taught a new set of behaviors that counter her abnormal conduct. For instance, she should appreciate that everyone has some weaknesses in his or her undertakings. In spite of this common trait, one should not feel rejected.Advertising Looking for critical writing on psychology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Through this process, she will enhance her relationship with other people. Hence, she can minimize the detestation level for others. This can be achieved through altering her environmental conditions. Moreover, the non-noticeable irrational thoughts should be substituted with rational thoughts. This will avert her behaviors to stability. Therefore, she can retrieve her normal course of life and live happily (Sheryl, 2009). The view of Tammy about her parentsââ¬â¢ irresponsibility in her life is one of the irrational thoughts. This feeling grew over time until she felt inferior among her colleagues. Based on this view, she experienced challenges in her marriage that forced her to go for a divorce. After divorcing her husband, challenges in her life never ceased. This is depicted by the relationship she had with her son. Her mental and emotional feelings make her propagate her distress to the son. Under this case, she should learn to take life normally and think positively about ev eryone (Patterson Watkins, 2006). After establishing the appropriate model to use in resolving the above model, one can apply several interventions. These interventions will be directed to reduction of depression and suicidal thoughts. Similarly, other crucial elements experience in her life such as feelings of emptiness, withdrawal from people and negative behavior will be covered. As a result, modeling intervention should be adopted to enhance pleasurable activities of Tammy. A therapist should demonstrate or dramatize the appropriate behavior, which Tammy has to learn. Through observation, she can overcome the problems. Furthermore, Tammy has to relate with affected individuals like her to motivate her in acquisition of new behaviors. As a result, she would be stimulated to follow them so that she can adjust to new behaviors (Kuyken, 2009). Behavioral practice is another intervention that should be used to resolve Tammyââ¬â¢s problems. This intervention gives the client the a bility to incorporate new behaviors that are healthy. Through a demonstration of similar behaviors, she would gain new knowledge. Over time, she can refine the skills and live happily. Some of the vital skills she would gain from this experience include participation in entertaining activities frequently, reduction of argument frequency and improvement of relationship with other people especially her boyfriend (Patterson Watkins, 2006). Self-control is also one of the interventions that would play a crucial role in addressing Tammyââ¬â¢s case. Despite the belief that her family lineage is cursed with similar psychological troubles, she should not drive herself into such problems. In this regard, Tammy should learn more from people that have positive imaginations about life rather than restricting herself to weaknesses in her background. As a result, she would avoid thoughts of suicide, and imagine being contended with life. In addition, the client should monitor how other people behave in the society, and begin to appreciate their contributions. This would improve her feeling of emptiness because other people would reciprocate the goods things she does for them. Self-monitoring during interaction moments with other people also adds the clientââ¬â¢s knowledge in differentiating what is right from what is wrong (Sheryl, 2009). This promotes the concept of understanding good and bad things that affect life. Based on this fact, she would monitor her deeds to prevent the dire consequences of bad behaviors. Consequently, this would boost the relationship she has with his son and the boyfriend. Skills development training is suitable for countering Tammyââ¬â¢s problems. This training process will teach the client ways of relating with counterparts. Negative thoughts would reduce because one will always be in the company of others (Fall et al., 2004). Based on Tammyââ¬â¢s thoughts of suicide, this intervention would motivate her in reducing mental pressur e, while increasing fan in her life. As a happy woman, she can rarely have suicidal thoughts crossing over her mind. This intervention combined with relaxation plays a critical role in Tammyââ¬â¢s case. She would have adequate relaxation, which reduces instances of negative thoughts. Thus, the client realizes the causes of negative thoughts that affect her. Maladaptive thoughts can be resolved through cognitive restructuring. Since Tammy is an intelligent woman, she should be trained on concepts of recognizing thoughts that are destructive to her psychological stability. This idea will assist her develop strength in her reasoning, and avoid reoccurrence past traumas. The negative thoughts of suicides will also be reduced significantly. Her relationship with the son would be improved, since she will act as a counselor to him over his weaknesses. Similarly, her sex life would be significantly improved. This is because she would be able to interact with men without a sense of inferi ority. At the same time, she would be able to derive satisfaction that she has missed since her first relationship at sixteen. This restructuring mechanism would be ideal to handle the case of Tammy, hence, making her live happily. Systematic desensitization will be adopted to challenge fear and anxiety disorders portrayed by Tammy. This process involves the identification of fears held by the client. After the series of fears are clarified, one is considered for appropriate means that reduce mental pressure through relaxation (Mike, 2011). When fears are eliminated sequentially, one would experience trust in oneself that leads to eradication of more fears. In the case of Tammy, she experienced fears while she was still young, and has piled up to the current fear of suicidal attempts. These fears should be addressed in stages. Fears of stresses imparted into her by her parents should be wiped out because she is now a grown up. Sequentially, this would lead to eradication of the comp licate fear of suicide. Through cooperation portrayed by the client, the whole process would be successful. As a result, she would live happily (Patterson Watkins, 2006). Learning a new internal dialogue addresses some challenges portrayed in Tammyââ¬â¢s case. Tammyââ¬â¢s internal dialogue in the past only involved negative ideas and views about herself. The fact that her counterparts do not relate well with her has worsened the condition. At the current moment, it is essential for Tammy to learn means of becoming positive about life. Through giving herself hope and courage in her undertakings, she would realize a good life that is full of pleasure. This concept initiates from the mind, where she should regard herself as being important, and having a role for her existence. Over time, her internal spirit would counter multiple challenges in her life. This would be significant in making her live happily. When the client has experienced satisfactory assistance from the therapis t, it is essential to establish whether she can cope up with the changes. In this regard, the client would be able to identify the thoughts and behaviors that affect her life. For this reason, she would realize their effects on her life. After some time, she would develop solutions to her thoughts making her live happily. These solutions would emanate from behaviors that make her life normal and stable. Conclusion The REBT has been adopted to handle Tammyââ¬â¢s case because the model addresses the Clientââ¬â¢s problems appropriately. The therapeutic model demonstrates the reasons that make affected individuals have maladaptive behaviors and thoughts. The theory outlines the multiple clientsââ¬â¢ behaviors such as depression, withdrawal and avoidance to reduce qualms. This nature of behaviors results from external environment one is brought up in the early days. As a result, the client is influenced to react in multiple ways (Mike, 2011). For instance, in the above case, Tam my reacts in varied ways due to activities surrounding her. This is because the actions have portrayed problematic behaviors within her life. Her parents are the main reason driving her to depression. This fact is worsened by the lack of support she receives from other people, which is an indication of the ability to do something worthwhile. After getting married, she felt that she could not be attracted to her husband, which forced her to take a divorce. The life after marriage is still unsatisfactory as she attempts to provide for her son. Her understanding about the family lineage indicates that most of the members experienced the same condition. As a result, she imagines that this might have been a curse. All these negative thoughts have made her a depressed woman. Thus, she cannot leave a happy life. The REBT cognitive theories would assist a therapist to realize the root causes of behaviors. One way of identifying the behaviors is behavioral rehearsal intervention. This provid es that client with an opportunity to gain new skills and learn essential behaviors. Such a model allows a therapist to demonstrate the skills and knowledge of handling life issues. As the client watches these skills, she identifies her weaknesses, while attempting to perceive issues in a different dimension. Meanwhile, self-control and repose are some of the interventions that can be adopted (Kuyken, 2009). Clients are given skills and training that allows relaxation of the mind, and regulation of physical activities. This therapy promotes positive behavior towards normal work and other people. For this reason, the client would develop rational thoughts that will enable her live happily. Despite the possibility of positive results from the therapy, there are certain challenges that the therapist will experience. These challenges emanates from the fact that the client is intelligent and aware of the external environment influencing her moods and behaviors. In addition, the client ha s always attempted to improve her personality, but never succeeded. Notably, the idea that the client has lived long with the challenges could be an obstacle in incorporating changes in her life. The client also could realize some of the weaknesses from the therapist. Initially, the therapistââ¬â¢s mazy could be affected by oneââ¬â¢s education level. On the other hand, the client may not be willing to adjust to her new behaviors. This results from the difference in culture and education standards. Nevertheless, the case of Tammy will be resolved appropriately by REBT. As a result, most of her mental, emotional, and psychological troubles would be eradicated. This would enable her live a life that is fulfilling as a woman. References Fall, K. A., Holden, J. M., Marquis, A. (2004). Theoretical models of counseling and psychotherapy.
